History
Zheng Jing built the Beiyuan Villa here around 1680 for his mother. Qing officials turned it into Haihui Temple in 1690, and it was renamed Kaiyuan Temple in 1777. It holds the oldest bronze bell in Taiwan, cast in 1695.
