History
Its forerunner was a Guandi temple built south of Fort Provintia in the Zheng era, around 1665, though the exact date is uncertain. In 1727 the Qing made it an official temple with spring and autumn rites. The 1794 plaque reading 大丈夫 is one of Tainan's four famous plaques.
