Guohua Street runs north from Fuqian Road through the market quarter, and many stalls on it open at dawn. This walk goes from lamb soup to squid noodles, wa gui and shaved ice.

Getting there

Fuqian Road is about 25 minutes on foot from Tainan Station, or a short taxi ride. From there, walk north along Guohua Street.

On the way

  • Yongle Market: A busy market block on Guohua Street lined with snack stalls.
  • Shennong Street: A short lane of restored wooden shophouses, a few minutes north of the market.
