History
The British firm Tait & Co. set up in Anping in 1867, after the port opened to foreign trade, and dealt in sugar and camphor. The branch closed in 1911 and the buildings passed to the Dai Nippon Salt company, then to the Tainan salt works after the war. The city restored the house in 1979 and opened it as a wax museum of Taiwanese history in 1981.
